Nepali Journalist Commends China for Consistent Disaster Relief Support to Nepal
A journalist with Nepal’s National News Agency, Sharachchandra Bhandary, has lauded China for its sustained support to Nepal during major natural disasters.

Bhandary made the commendation in an interview with CGTN on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Media Forum held in Guangdong Province, South China.

According to him, China’s assistance following the August 26, 2026 mudslide along the China-Nepal border included provision of equipment, medical and logistical support, as well as funding.

He also recalled China’s swift response to Nepal’s devastating 2015 earthquake, noting that both neighbouring countries have a long history of standing by each other in difficult times.

Bhandary, who condoled with families that lost loved ones in both China and Nepal, called for deeper cooperation between the two countries in areas such as remote sensing and disaster information sharing to improve preparedness for future emergencies.
