Ooni’s Council Urges Civil Servants to Support New Head of Service, Abel, for Transformative Reforms
The Ife Traditional Council has called on Federal Civil Servants to rally behind the newly appointed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Olumuyiwa Abel, saying the success of her administration will depend on unity and collective commitment.

The call was made on Monday when a delegation of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, paid a courtesy visit to the new HCSF in Abuja to congratulate her on her appointment.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Her Regal Majesty, Olori Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi, described Abel as a purpose-driven and accomplished public servant, and urged staff of the Federal Civil Service to give her the needed support to translate her vision into tangible reforms.

According to her, sustainable transformation cannot be achieved by the head of an organization alone, noting that teamwork and dedication are critical to strengthening the service.

She expressed confidence that the new HCSF has the capacity to provide transformative leadership and reposition the Federal Civil Service in line with the aspirations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

In his response, Abel said the visit was significant as it not only showed goodwill from the Ooni but also reinforced the important role of traditional institutions in building a cohesive society.

He acknowledged Ile-Ife as the cradle of Yoruba civilization and commended traditional institutions for preserving cultural heritage, promoting peace and fostering community development.

Abel stated that effective governance requires collaboration beyond government offices and pledged that the civil service under his leadership will support the implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through improved governance, stronger institutions and better service delivery.

He said building a resilient public service requires “sustained collaboration, collective responsibility and a shared commitment to national development.”

The delegation included the Onifegunwa of Ifegunwa, Oba Adedire Adewole Solomon, and the Yeye Bobajiro Oodua, Dr. Yeye Afolashade Shona-Aluko.
