“You Cannot Pin Anything On Him” – Gospel Minister Lawrence Oyor Speaks On Peter Obi’s Political Rise

Nigerian gospel minister, Lawrence Oyor, has weighed in on the political journey of former Anambra State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Speaking during a recent church program, Oyor described Obi’s rise in Nigeria’s political space as unusual and worthy of attention, especially as conversations around the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

According to Oyor, what stands out about Obi is how he has attained such a high level of political influence, prosperity and prominence without any major scandal or controversy successfully pinned on him.

In his words:
“Whether you want to vote for Peter Obi for president or not, it should baffle you that a man has made it to that level of prosperity and capacity, as far as politics, power and influence are concerned, and yet you cannot pin anything on him.”
He further questioned how rare that is in Nigeria’s political climate where top politicians are constantly under scrutiny.
“Do you know how strange that is in this country? If there’s anything they could have found, they would have found it by now,” he added.
The minister clarified that his observation was not necessarily an endorsement of Peter Obi for president, but a call for Nigerians to reflect on the nature of his political journey.

His comments come at a time when Peter Obi remains one of the most talked-about political figures in Nigeria following his impressive outing in the 2023 presidential election.
