2027: Enugu Community Pledges Support for Mbah, Tinubu
The people of Ikem community in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State have declared their total support for the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Tinubu, alongside all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming local government and 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made by APC stakeholders in the community when the party’s campaign train visited Ikem Uno Ward 1 ahead of the local government elections. The stakeholders commended Governor Mbah for his developmental strides, particularly the construction of the Owo-Neke-Ikem virgin road, noting that the governor has demonstrated strong capacity in infrastructure delivery.
Speaking during the visit, an APC stakeholder, Dr. Dave Nnamani, appealed to the governor to consider constructing a crucial link road that cuts across Ukwumango Ikem Ogor through Ikem Nkwo-Ashiebo-Odobido Ikem-Odenigbo Eha-Amufu and terminates at Ahube Water, which marks the boundary between Enugu and Benue States according to Legal Notice 126 of 1954.
According to him, the road when constructed will open up rural communities and enable five communities – Odobido, Orene, Ekor, and Ishiador – to return to their ancestral lands abandoned since 1970 due to hostility from their Benue neighbours.
“The road will connect Ebonyi, Enugu, and Benue to parts of the North within a few hours. We appreciate other developmental projects embarked upon by Governor Mbah, which have affected many lives in the state. We are going to reciprocate the gesture through our mobilisation to re-elect the governor and other APC candidates in Isi-Uzo LGA,” Nnamani said.
He further urged Governor Mbah to work with the incoming chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA to prioritize the road project in line with his administration’s agrarian policy.
The APC chairmanship candidate for Isi-Uzo, Chief Brendan Ani, was accompanied by the APC House of Assembly candidate for Isi-Uzo State Constituency, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, and the APC candidate for Isi-Uzo/Enugu East Federal Constituency, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga.
The people of Ikem also expressed support for Edeoga, Augustine Nnamani and Brendan Ani, reaffirming confidence in the party’s leadership and candidates.
