31-Year-Old Corps Member Arrested Over Alleged Defilement of 6-Year-Old Pupil in Warri
A 31-year-old member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving as a teacher in a private school off Jakpa Road, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, has been arrested over the alleged sexual abuse of a six-year-old pupil.

According to reports, the victim alleged that the suspect took her to his apartment located within the school premises on three separate occasions, when her mother came late to pick her up from school.

The child further alleged that the corps member threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident.

A medical examination was reportedly conducted on the child and was said to have revealed injuries consistent with sexual abuse.

A Delta-based activist who is following the case disclosed that the suspect has been arraigned before High Court 1, Effurun, and was remanded at the Warri Correctional Facility in Okere.

The court adjourned the case till September 18, 2026, pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many users calling for justice for the minor.
