Alex Iwobi Wipes Fulham Posts After Being Booed by Fans
Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi has deleted all Fulham-related posts from his Instagram account, just days after he was jeered by some supporters during Fulham’s 3-2 Premier League loss to Crystal Palace.

Iwobi was substituted in the 82nd minute of the game and was met with ironic cheers and boos from a section of the crowd, despite reportedly ranking second for distance covered among Fulham players in that match.

His former Arsenal teammate, Emile Smith Rowe, has also cleared his Instagram page of football content, as both players go quiet on social media amid Fulham’s poor start to the season.

The Cottagers have lost their first three Premier League games and sit 19th on the table, above only newly promoted Coventry City on goal difference. Iwobi started all three games, while Smith Rowe featured twice off the bench.

This is not the first time Iwobi has taken such action. He previously deleted his posts earlier this year before restoring them in late May. He also did the same after facing online abuse following Nigeria’s defeat in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 30-year-old joined Fulham from Everton in 2023 to reunite with Marco Silva and has since become a key figure on and off the pitch.

Fulham face a tough test next as they travel to Anfield to play unbeaten Liverpool this weekend.
