Azeez Eyes Premier League Stability After Brighton Switch
New Brighton & Hove Albion winger, Femi Azeez, says his immediate focus is settling into life in the Premier League following his deadline-day move from Millwall.

Brighton confirmed the deal on Wednesday after both clubs submitted a deal sheet before the 11pm deadline, securing an extension until 1am to complete the transfer.

The deal is reportedly worth up to £15m, with an initial £12.5m fee plus over £2.5m in performance-related add-ons.

The 25-year-old Nigeria international, who signed a four-year deal at the Amex, said he doesn’t want to put himself under too much pressure as he makes the step up from the Championship.
“I guess just settling in to the Premier League, settling into the club is a big step up from the Championship. I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself just yet because obviously this is a massive jump,” Azeez said in his first interview on the club’s YouTube channel.

“It’s the best league in the world for a reason. So if I just take it day by day, work hard, come in every day, enjoy it, have a smile on my face, listen to the guys that are here already, take feedback and grow. I think that’s the main thing for me right now. And then hopefully once I start being established in the team, then I can start setting real targets for myself.”
Azeez admitted the Premier League will be a different level but backed himself to adapt.

He also revealed that a conversation with Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler was key to his decision to join the Seagulls, citing the manager’s attention to detail and the club’s track record of developing players.

For the former Reading man, the move is a dream come true.
“It’s every young boy’s dream, isn’t it? Something I’ve been dreaming of for my whole life and to be given this opportunity is like a dream come true,” he said.
Azeez enjoyed a standout 2024/25 season with Millwall, scoring 11 goals and providing eight assists in 35 Championship appearances. His form helped Millwall reach the playoffs and earned him a place in both the EFL Championship Team of the Season and the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

In total, he made 77 appearances for Millwall, scoring 15 goals and registering 13 assists since joining from Reading in 2024 for around £1m.
