Carter Efe Says He Quit Couple Content To Protect His Career
Nigerian skitmaker and content creator Carter Efe has revealed why he stopped making relationship content with his ex-girlfriend.

Speaking on a recent episode of Cocktails & Takeaways, Efe said his relationship had become the center of his online content at the time, to the point where he couldn’t shoot if his girlfriend was unavailable.

He explained that he realized tying his career to another person would limit his growth and make it hard to build his own identity. He decided to create a personal brand that could stand on its own, so his success wouldn’t depend on being with a particular partner.

In his words:
“I’m a smart boy. God gave me brain. I know say this thing go take my life. There was a time I could not do content if I don’t see my woman… You don’t have to attach me to anyone. Like don’t attach my glory also to someone else.”
He added that behind the scenes was exhausting, with constant fights before filming while viewers only saw the romantic side in the comments.
“Do you know how many times I’ll cry before we shoot? We’ll fight, fight, fight before we start content… Four thousand comments, five thousand comments… I was tired because behind scene is crazy. Your mental health is going.”
Efe stressed that he didn’t want to deceive people for years by pretending everything was perfect.
