EPL: Liverpool Salvage 2-2 Draw Against Nottingham Forest At Anfield
Liverpool’s wait for a first Premier League win of the season continued on Saturday after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

Debutant Victor Munoz was the hero for the Reds, scoring a late equaliser on his first appearance to rescue a point for new manager Andoni Iraola in his first home game in charge.

Forest looked on course for a third straight win at Anfield after Dan Ndoye opened the scoring in the 24th minute. The visitors capitalized on a long ball that caused chaos in the Liverpool defence, with Morgan Gibbs-White setting up Ndoye to finish.

Liverpool had a goal from Florian Wirtz ruled out for offside, and Alisson had to produce a vital save to deny Ndoye a second before half-time.

The Reds finally drew level on the hour mark when Cody Gakpo delivered a perfect cross for Alexander Isak to tap in.

The joy was short-lived as Forest struck back. A quick throw-in caught Liverpool out, Neco Williams was brought down by Alisson who rushed off his line, and Gibbs-White sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot to make it 2-1.

Iraola turned to his bench and it paid off. Wirtz slipped a precise pass through the defence to find Munoz, who smashed his shot in off the crossbar to score his first goal since joining from Osasuna.

Both sides pushed for a winner in a frantic finish, but neither could find it, leaving both Iraola and Forest boss Oliver Glasner still searching for their first win of the campaign.

The result highlighted Liverpool’s defensive frailties despite heavy summer investment. The Reds could have a boost soon, with French winger Bradley Barcola reportedly close to completing a £106m move from Paris Saint-Germain.
