Ex-QPR Midfielder Akos Buzsaky Found Safe After Missing Report

Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder, Akos Buzsaky, has confirmed he is safe and well after reports that he was missing in Hungary.

The 44-year-old former Hungary international was reported missing on Wednesday after allegedly disappearing for over a week, prompting a police search.

Reacting on Friday via a Facebook post which was shared by QPR on X, Buzsaky thanked fans for their concern and explained that he had stepped away from his daily routine due to personal challenges.

“Unfortunately, in the last few months, there have been serious changes in my life that have tested me. There came a moment when I felt I had to break away from these daily routines,” he said.

The ex-midfielder disclosed that his mother had contacted the police following a misunderstanding, adding that he immediately ended his retreat and informed the authorities as soon as he became aware of the situation.

“As soon as I learned about the situation, I stopped my retreat and informed the authorities. Thank you very much for all the concern and thoughts you have shown me. I wish everyone a nice day, and it felt really good to receive so much love!” he added.

Buzsaky spent five seasons at QPR after joining on loan in 2007. During his time in England, he also featured for Plymouth Argyle, Portsmouth and Barnsley, scoring 33 goals in 243 appearances. He won 20 caps for Hungary.
