Falconets Ready for U-20 World Cup – Coach Aduku
Falconets head coach Moses Aduku has expressed confidence in his squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, declaring his team fully ready after their final preparatory game.

The Nigeria U-20 women’s team rounded off their training camp in Poland with a 1-1 draw against South Korea on Tuesday. The result follows their impressive 1-0 victory over hosts Poland last Friday in Brzeg.

In the final friendly, Mary Mamudu, who also scored the winner against Poland, put Nigeria ahead in the 29th minute before South Korea levelled from the penalty spot in the 78th minute. The Falconets finished their two-game preparation unbeaten with one win and one draw.

Speaking after the match, Aduku said his team is in good shape with no injury concerns heading into the tournament.
“So far, so good. We are done with our friendly games. For me, we are good. No injury worries. My girls are ready,” the coach said.
He admitted his side missed chances to win the game but praised the Koreans for their strong display.
“It was not a bad game. For me, the game was so good. We lost one or two scoring chances to win the game, but all the same, I respect the Korean team. They are also a good side,” he added.
Goalkeeper Effiong Bright Etim also lauded her teammates, rating their performance 95 out of 100, and stressed the importance of concentration until the final whistle.

Attention now shifts to the World Cup proper. Nigeria has been drawn in Group F alongside Spain, China and New Caledonia. The Falconets will open their campaign against Spain next Monday, face China in Sosnowiec on Thursday, September 10, and then take on New Caledonia in Łódź on Sunday, September 13.
