Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke, has disclosed his personal standard for accepting movie roles, stating that he does not work on films with a production budget below N100 million.

The actor made the revelation during a recent podcast appearance, where he clarified that his benchmark is based on the overall budget of the production, not just his personal fee.

According to him, taking a N100 million budget to shoot a YouTube film does not make sense.
“I never do any film where the budget na less than 100 million. Have you taken your 100 million Naira budget to go and do YouTube film? Maybe I’ll follow you,” he said.
He stressed that it is not about demanding higher pay:
“No, no be pay well. Nothing where I do where the budget na less than 100 million.”
Okeke added that most of the notable films he has starred in had budgets starting from N300 million upwards, which is why they make it to the cinemas and streaming platforms like Netflix.
“All the film where you know me for, na from 300 million upwards. That’s why you see me for cinema, that’s why you see me for Netflix, yeah,” he stated.
His statement has since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some fans praising him for setting a standard for quality, while others questioned the business side of such high-budget productions.
