Gospel Singer Neon Adejo Denies Affair With Photographer’s Wife, Says Kindness Was Misinterpreted

Nigerian gospel artiste Neon Adejo has broken his silence and cleared his name over allegations that he had an affair with Alicia, the estranged wife of celebrity photographer David Martins.

The controversy began after David Martins shared private chats between Alicia and Neon online, accusing the singer of crossing boundaries with his wife during their marriage crisis. This came just days after Alicia had publicly accused David of domestic abuse.

In a detailed statement shared via his Instagram story, Neon Adejo denied any romantic involvement with Alicia, stating that he only got involved out of a genuine desire to help.
“I have receipts and documentation of my own side of this story, but let me make one thing very clear: I had absolutely no business with what was happening between the two of them. I only became involved because I genuinely tried to help someone in need,” he said.
The singer disclosed that he carried his wife along throughout the entire process of supporting Alicia, even when he was told some things needed discretion.

According to Neon, the situation started one evening in 2025 while he was praying, when he had a sudden impression that Alicia was unhappy. He said he reached out to both Alicia and David on Instagram to check on them.

He explained that his involvement later became more practical. He claimed he assisted Alicia and her son, Noah, with hospital bills, food, and other basic needs. He also said he took her shopping and eventually secured a one-month Airbnb apartment in Lekki Phase 1 for her after she had nowhere to stay, which he said cost N270,000 per night.
“I have a son of my own. I cannot imagine watching my brother’s son struggle and simply looking away. I wasn’t trying to be a hero. I was simply doing what I believed was right at the time.”
Neon expressed shock that conversations and messages from someone he and his wife deliberately chose to help were recorded and shared.
“This experience has taught me a painful lesson: good intentions do not always mean you are dealing with people who have good intentions toward you. Going forward, I will be extremely careful about getting involved in marital or personal matters, no matter how heartbreaking the story may sound.”
He added that he spoke to his pastor and urged David to take accountability, maintaining that there is no justification for violence in marriage.

David Martins had earlier alleged that Alicia was unfaithful and shared screenshots of her alleged conversations with Neon as part of his own account of their failed marriage.
