Hood FC Emerge Champions of 2026 5Stars Premier League
Hood FC of Abuja have been crowned champions of the 2026 5Stars Premier League after a dominant 4-1 win over Lagos-based Sir J FC in the final.

The final match, played at the Showtime Arena in Lekki, Lagos on Saturday, September 5, 2026, saw Hood FC continue Abuja’s unbeaten run in the competition. No team outside Abuja has won the title since the league was established in 2019.

Sir J FC held the Abuja side to a 1-1 draw in a tense first half, but Hood FC came out firing after the break, netting three unanswered goals to secure the title and the N4 million grand prize.

The 2026 edition, which is the 8th season tagged “The Reawakening 8,” was backed by corporate sponsors including MTN Nigeria, PUMA Nigeria, and Devon King’s. International grassroots football advocate, Ricky Weir, also supported the finals with sporting equipment and engagement with players.

Beyond the trophy, the tournament once again served as a showcase for grassroots talent, with several outstanding players catching the attention of international scouts, agents, and club executives for potential moves abroad.
