JERSEY BLUNDER: Jigawa Golden Stars Disowns ‘Kano League Club’ Inscription
The management of Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club has disowned its newly unveiled jersey after it was spotted with a wrong inscription.
The jersey, which was unveiled in Dutse, was seen bearing “Kano League Club” instead of the club’s official name, Jigawa Golden Stars FC.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, the club’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Isyaku, said the management was not aware of the error before the unveiling ceremony.
“We wish to state categorically that Jigawa Golden Stars FC is not aware of this error and had no prior knowledge of the said inscription before the unveiling,” Isyaku said.
He added that the club has launched an investigation into how the anomaly occurred, noting that appropriate measures would be taken to correct it and ensure proper branding of its official kits.
“Appropriate measures will be taken to address the anomaly and ensure the correct branding of our official kits,” he stated.
Isyaku further reassured fans and supporters of the club’s commitment to representing Jigawa State with pride and integrity, while appealing for calm as the management works to fix the blunder.
“We reassure our teeming fans, supporters, and the good people of Jigawa State that Jigawa Golden Stars FC remains fully committed to representing the state with pride and integrity,” he added.
