João Pedro Named Premier League Player of the Month for August
Chelsea striker João Pedro has been crowned the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026, following a flying start to the 2026/27 season.
It is the Brazilian’s first Player of the Month award in the Premier League and the first time a Chelsea player has won it since Cole Palmer in September 2024.
According to Chelsea’s official website, Pedro topped a public vote that included teammate Palmer and six other nominees to clinch the honour.
The forward made an instant impact, registering four goal contributions in Chelsea’s first two league games, both ending in wins.
He announced himself just 33 seconds into the season opener against Fulham with a goal, before assisting Palmer for the winner. He repeated the feat in Chelsea’s first home game against Brighton & Hove Albion — scoring with a calm finish and again setting up Palmer to secure the victory.
With two goals and two assists in two games, Pedro emerged as one of the league’s standout performers in August, earning massive backing from fans worldwide in the public vote. He was presented with the award at Chelsea’s Cobham training base.
