LSGA Pushes Inclusion, Leadership With Lagos Golf Experience
No fewer than 180 golfers featured in the just-concluded Leadership Cup of the Lagos Golf Experience, a landmark tournament organized by the Lagos State Golf Association, LSGA, to blend sports, leadership, networking and social impact.

The tournament was held at the Golf Section of Ikoyi Club 1938, and a major highlight was the Leadership Golf Clinic which introduced 20 top leaders to the game of golf. Among the participants were Permanent Secretaries in the Lagos State Government and senior executives from the financial services and capital market sectors.

The event was officially flagged off with a ceremonial tee-off by Princess Damilola Sunayon, who represented the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

She was joined by the Group Managing Director of Abuja Investment Company Limited, Maureen Tamuno, who showed support for women’s participation in golf by presenting a special golf accessories prize to the winner of the Queens of the Greens category.

The prize presentation and gala night drew dignitaries from across the corporate, political, social and sporting circles.

According to the organizers, the Lagos Golf Experience was conceived as a flagship platform to unveil the vision of the new Executive Committee of the LSGA.

A key agenda of the Association is to encourage more women from age 18 and above, as well as children and young people, to embrace golf as a sport, a networking platform, and a tool for personal and leadership development.

The Leadership Golf Clinic is seen as a major step in that direction, taking golf beyond its traditional audience to influential leaders and professionals.

Through initiatives like the Lagos Golf Experience, Leadership Golf Clinic and Queens of the Greens, the LSGA is positioning golf not just as a competitive sport, but as a vehicle for leadership development, inclusion, mentorship, networking and community building.

The Lagos State Golf Association is chaired by Deji Johnson, son of former Lagos State Military Governor, Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson, while seasoned PR and HR practitioner, Kemi Olowoyo-Otegbade, serves as Vice-Chairman.
