“No Opposition Campaign in Sight, Tinubu Govt Suppressing Opposition” – Isaac Fayose

Businessman and political commentator, Isaac Fayose, has raised concerns over Nigeria’s political climate ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Fayose alleged that opposition parties are being prevented from campaigning freely across the country, creating an uneven playing field.

According to him, despite the election drawing closer, there is little to no visible campaign activity from opposition parties, a situation he blamed on the Bola Tinubu-led administration.

He claimed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was recently tear-gassed in Kaduna, adding that similar cases of opposition suppression are happening in Lagos and Benue States.

In his words:
“The 2027 Presidential Election Is Close, But It Doesn’t Look Like Election Campaigns Are Happening Because The Tinubu Government Is Not Allowing Opposition To Campaign. They Have Suppressed The Opposition And There Is No Level Playing Ground. ADC Was Tear-Gassed In Kaduna. The Same Thing Is Happening In Lagos; They’re Not Allowing Any Campaigns For The Opposition. Same With Benue.”
Fayose described the situation as abnormal and called for urgent attention, stressing that Nigerians should be worried that four months to the election, there is still no sign of opposition campaigns.

His statement has further fueled ongoing conversations about the state of democracy and opposition readiness ahead of 2027.
