Veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has shared her honest opinion on infidelity in marriage, stating that forgiveness is possible if there is genuine remorse.

The mother of four made this known during a recent interview with Broadway TV, when she was asked if a cheating partner deserves a second chance.

According to Omotola, a one-time act of cheating should not automatically lead to the end of a marriage, especially if the person who cheated shows true regret and a clear sign of change.
“If someone cheats once, should they be forgiven? I would say yes, if they are genuinely remorseful and show that they have changed,” she said.
The actress however noted that in cases of repeated cheating, couples need to pause and examine the root cause of the problem rather than making hasty decisions.
“Should someone forgive a repeatedly cheating spouse? Why are they cheating? I think the problem these days is that we are very impatient. Yes, the scene is very bad but then, sometimes you need to assess the situation,” she added.
She further advised that people should consider the overall character of their partner and not define the entire relationship by a single act of infidelity.
“One, who is this person really? Is that the only problem? Is this person perfect but just a cheat? Now you have to weigh options,” Omotola stated.
