PSG Declare Jennifer Echegini Not For Sale After Rejecting Man City Bids

Paris Saint-Germain have turned down several bids from Manchester City for Super Falcons star Jennifer Echegini, declaring the midfielder not for sale.

According to BBC Sport, City made their move ahead of Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, but sources at the French club insist the 25-year-old remains a key part of their plans despite having one year left on her contract.

Echegini, who spent most of her youth career in England with the Arsenal academy, joined PSG from Juventus in June 2024 on a three-year deal that runs until June 2027. In her two years in Paris, she has established herself as a central midfield figure, praised for her composure, tempo control and big-game impact.

Last year, she scored the winning goal for Nigeria in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco to seal a record 10th continental title for the Super Falcons.

It is the second time this year PSG have rejected an approach for Echegini. In February, the club also turned down a late offer from Chelsea just days before the English window closed, prioritizing squad stability for the second half of the season.

Per Soccerdonna, Echegini is currently rated as Africa’s fifth most valuable female footballer and Nigeria’s second most valuable behind Rasheedat Ajibade (€375,000).

PSG are next in action against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Women’s Champions League third-round qualifiers on Wednesday.
