Solomon Buchi Slams Viral Dance Trend, Calls It “Disgusting and Crass”
Media personality Solomon Buchi has stirred reactions online after openly criticizing a viral dance challenge currently trending on social media.
In a video circulating online, Buchi described the dance — which involves lifting one leg and smacking one’s private area — as disgusting, crass and lacking in class. He said those who take part in the trend come across as unprincipled, uncultured and uncouth.
Buchi, who expressed particular disappointment at women participating in the challenge, questioned the values of those involved and said he would not follow anyone who does the dance.
“I’m here to tell you guys that that dance you do where you lift your leg up and you smack your private part is disgusting and it makes you look so crass. It makes you look so much of a joker,” he said.
He further faulted the notion that wearing expensive designer clothes equates to being classy.
“And it’s so sad that you see a lot of women doing it and tomorrow these same women will claim to be classy. You think class is all about wearing designers.”
According to him, public behaviour like this can overshadow whatever good upbringing a person may have received.
“No matter how much money you have, we will always know that you are crass and that you have no levels and that your parents did not raise you well or probably they did raise you well but you threw away all of that training.”
Buchi however noted that while everyone is entitled to their choices, he is also entitled to his opinion.
“But no, your body, your choice. Well, your body, your choice, my mouth, my opinion, my mind, my perception of you.”
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions, with some users agreeing that public conduct reflects class, while others argue people should be free to join trends without being shamed.
