Taiwo Awoniyi Earns Postgraduate Diploma From PFA Business School

Super Eagles and Coventry City striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has bagged a new academic qualification.

The 29-year-old forward graduated from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship with merit.

Awoniyi announced the feat on Tuesday via his X handle, saying: “Another proud moment for me off the pitch. Graduating from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship with merit. Still playing. Still learning. The journey continues.”

The latest certificate adds to his academic profile. He had earlier obtained a diploma in Business Administration and Marketing Management from the London School of International Business in 2020, and completed a degree in Business Management at Buckinghamshire New University in 2022.

The graduation comes weeks after Awoniyi started a new chapter in his football career. He left Nottingham Forest in August to join newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City in a deal reportedly worth around £9m. At Forest, he made 103 appearances, scoring 23 goals and providing six assists in four years.

His start at Coventry has been mixed, having been sent off in their 5-0 loss to Brighton on Sunday, which rules him out of Coventry’s clash against his former club Forest.

Off the pitch, the Nigerian international continues to prepare for life after football, with the new qualification positioning him for a future role in football management and sporting directorship.
