From Real Madrid’s early stranglehold to the modern emergence of Paris Saint-Germain, these dynasties shaped how the game is played and remembered.

According to a ranking published by BBC Sport on Wednesday, here are the top 10 greatest dynasties in European football history:

1. Real Madrid (1955-60)
The original European superpower. Los Blancos won five consecutive European Cups, setting the ultimate benchmark for continental dominance that has never been matched.

2. Ajax (1968-73)
