Top 10 Greatest EPL Managers of All Time Ranked
Ranking the greatest managers in Premier League history is never easy. While trophies matter, longevity, consistency, tactical impact and the context behind each title win must also count.

According to a recent ranking by BBC Sport, here are the top 10 managers to have ever lifted the Premier League trophy:

10. Carlo Ancelotti – Chelsea
Title: 2009-10. The Italian made an instant impact, guiding Chelsea to the title in his first season with a record 103 goals. Though his spell lasted only two seasons, his career Grand Slam of titles in Italy, England, France, Germany and Spain cements his legacy.

9. Mikel Arteta – Arsenal
Title: 2025-26. Arteta earns his spot for ending Arsenal’s long drought and transforming the club from top-four hopefuls to champions, breaking an eight-year dominance of Manchester City and Liverpool.

8. Roberto Mancini – Manchester City
Title: 2011-12. Mancini delivered City’s first major trophy of the Abu Dhabi era with the 2011 FA Cup, then the unforgettable Premier League title sealed by Sergio Aguero’s 93:20 winner against QPR.

7. Kenny Dalglish – Blackburn Rovers
Title: 1994-95. Already a Liverpool legend, Dalglish became just the fourth manager to win the English top-flight with two different clubs after leading Jack Walker’s Blackburn past Manchester United to the title.

6. Claudio Ranieri – Leicester City
Title: 2015-16. The ultimate fairy tale. Ranieri led 5,000-1 outsiders Leicester City to the most improbable title in English football history.

5. Jurgen Klopp – Liverpool
Title: 2019-20. The German turned Liverpool into a European powerhouse, delivering their first Premier League title and ending a 30-year league drought with 99 points, after three 90+ point seasons.

4. Jose Mourinho – Chelsea
Titles: 2004-05, 2005-06, 2014-15. The self-proclaimed “Special One” announced himself with a record-breaking Chelsea side that conceded just 15 goals in 2004-05, before adding a third title on his return.

3. Arsene Wenger – Arsenal
Titles: 1997-98, 2001-02, 2003-04. Wenger revolutionized English football. His crowning achievement remains the 2003-04 Invincibles who went an entire league season unbeaten.

2. Pep Guardiola – Manchester City
Titles: 2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24. Six titles in seven seasons, including four in a row – a first in English men’s football. His Centurions side of 2017-18 was the first to hit 100 points.

1. Sir Alex Ferguson – Manchester United
Titles: 13 titles (1992-93, 1993-94, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2000-01, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2010-11, 2012-13). The benchmark. Ferguson rebuilt United across different eras – from Cantona and the Class of ’92 to Ronaldo and Rooney – dominating the first 20 years of the Premier League.

Unlucky to miss out: Antonio Conte, Manuel Pellegrini and Mauricio Pochettino were all noted as being close contenders.
