Troops Kill 2 Terrorists, Recover Rifles, Motorcycles in Sokoto
Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have neutralised two terrorists and recovered arms and motorcycles in Sokoto State.

The incident occurred in the Maikujera general area of Rabah Local Government Area following credible intelligence received in the early hours of Friday, August 28, on the movement of terrorists conveying hundreds of rustled cattle.

According to the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, troops of Sector 2 swiftly moved to intercept the group but ran into an ambush staged by the terrorists while advancing.

The military said troops responded with superior firepower, killing two of the terrorists and forcing others to flee into surrounding bushes.

During exploitation of the area, troops recovered two AK-47 rifles and three motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing suspects. The rustled cattle were said to have dispersed into the bushes during the gunfight, with efforts ongoing alongside local vigilantes to locate and recover them.

Danja added that the general area remains calm as troops continue to dominate the area to prevent further terrorist activities.
