Ucheibe Reunites With Oshoala as She Joins Saudi Side Al Hilal
Super Falcons midfielder, Christy Ucheibe has completed a move to Saudi Women’s Premier League club, Al Hilal, where she will link up with her international teammate Asisat Oshoala.
The 25-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Riyadh-based club until the summer of 2028 after leaving Portuguese champions Benfica as a free agent.
Ucheibe brings an end to a successful six-year spell in Lisbon where she made 91 appearances and won several domestic honours with Benfica. She previously featured for Nasarawa Amazons in Nigeria and Swedish side Assi IF before establishing herself as a key player for Benfica.
At Al Hilal, she will reunite with fellow Nigerian star Oshoala, who joined the club last year from American side Bay FC.
Known for her energy, physical strength and versatility, Ucheibe can play both in midfield and at centre-back. She made her Super Falcons debut in 2022 and has earned 32 caps, scoring three goals, and was part of the Nigerian squad that won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Her arrival is expected to add experience and quality to Al Hilal as they prepare to challenge Al Nassr for dominance in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.
