The House of Representatives has ordered the Inspector-General of Police to produce the self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, Adeyemi Adeniyi, within 48 hours.

The directive was given on Monday during an investigative hearing by the House Ad-hoc Committee probing the controversial agency at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

Representing the IG, Assistant Commissioner of Police Bashir Abdullahi was told to ensure Adeyemi appears before the committee by noon on Wednesday.

– Fake agency probe: The committee is investigating how PFIPC, which is not legally established, secured office space at the Federal Secretariat and got ₦1.32bn allocation in the 2026 budget
– Allegations: Petitions from the Office of the Chief of Staff allege Adeyemi fraudulently presented himself as DG of PFIPC and the Presidential Economic Advisory Council
– Committee position: Chairman Yusuf Gagdi said Adeyemi’s appearance is needed to confirm documents and protect institutional integrity

The Presidency previously stated that Adeyemi forged appointment letters purportedly signed by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and was arrested in October 2025. He faces an 8-count charge for forgery and impersonation. 1a88
