Ex-Senator Francis Alimikhena Set for Coronation as Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom
Former two-time Senator, Francis Alimikhena, has been appointed as the Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.

His appointment was approved by the Edo State Executive Council on July 6, 2026.
Alimikhena represented Edo North in the Senate between 2015 and 2023. Elected into the 8th National Assembly in 2015, he was appointed Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate even as a first-timer, and was re-elected in 2019 where he served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff.
According to a statement signed by the Chairman, Media/Publicity of the Coronation Planning Committee, High Chief Tony Akiotu, FNGE, FNIPR, the coronation ceremony will attract eminent sons and daughters of Uwanno Kingdom within and outside Nigeria.
The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is expected to present the Staff of Office to the new traditional ruler on the 22nd of this month.
