EPL: Man City Target Fernandez In £120m Transfer Move — Reports
Manchester City are reportedly pushing to sign Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea in a deal worth £120m.

According to reports, City’s interest is driven by new manager Enzo Maresca, who is keen to reunite with Fernandez after working with him at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are understood to be demanding a staggering £120m fee to sanction his departure. The Blues reportedly told City they must submit a formal offer meeting their valuation by 5pm on Friday, August 15. The club insisted that if the deadline passed without an acceptable bid, Fernandez would not be allowed to leave in this transfer window.

As of the deadline, no formal offer had been received, according to Standard Sport. However, reports from Italy via Gianluca Di Marzio claim City have a £120m offer ‘ready’ and are still considering testing Chelsea’s resolve, despite Maresca stating on Friday morning that he did not expect any business “today.”

Fernandez, 25, who joined Chelsea from Benfica for about £107m in January 2023, has six years left on his contract and is open to a move to the Etihad, according to reports. City’s urgency comes as Barcelona continue to pursue Rodri.

City have already broken their transfer record once this summer with the £116m signing of Elliot Anderson and would have to break it again to land the 2022 World Cup winner.
