Nollywood star and filmmaker Funke Akindele has teamed up with singers and actresses Waje, Bisola Aiyeola, and Chioma Chukwuka for a brand new movie soundtrack.
The quartet recorded a song titled ‘Ore mi’ which will serve as one of the official soundtracks for Akindele’s highly anticipated upcoming film, ‘The Four’.
The soulful track, which blends English, Igbo, and Yoruba, celebrates the core themes of the movie — solid friendship, love, and the unbreakable bond between close friends.
Announcing the release, which is now available on major streaming platforms, Akindele said she wanted to create something personal and nostalgic.
“Bisola, Waje, Chioma and I did a thing. We got into the studio to create one of the soundtracks for The Four, and we wanted to make something that felt personal and familiar. Something with that beautiful folktale feeling we grew up with, telling stories through music, especially stories of friendship, love, and the bond we share,” she shared.
This is not the first time the box-office queen is merging film and music. In 2024, she collaborated with Falz, D’banj and other cast members on the soundtrack for Everybody Loves Christmas, which went on to become a popular festive anthem in Nigeria.
The release of ‘Ore mi’ has further heightened anticipation for ‘The Four’, with fans eager to see how the song ties into the story.
