EPL: Marmoush Joins Tottenham on Loan From Man City
Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to sign Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush on loan from Manchester City, with an obligation to make the deal permanent for £60 million next summer.

According to BBC Sport, the 27-year-old will make the switch to North London after struggling for regular minutes at the Etihad since his move from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Marmoush joined City in January 2025 for £59 million after an impressive spell in the Bundesliga. Despite showing flashes of his quality, he was often second-choice behind Erling Haaland and struggled to nail down a starting spot.

He came on as a second-half substitute in City’s 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal and was an unused substitute in their Premier League opener against Bournemouth, a 2-1 win.

In total, the Egypt international scored 16 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions for City. Eight of those came in 36 appearances in the 2025-26 season, where he started just eight league games, playing around 700 minutes with three goals and three assists.

The move to Spurs is expected to give Marmoush the chance for more consistent first-team football.

What Marmoush Brings to Spurs

Marmoush’s versatility will be a big asset for Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi. While his natural position is centre-forward, he can operate across the front three.

At Frankfurt, he played mainly through the middle but was also deployed as a second striker and from the left wing – a flexibility City also utilized.

That adaptability could be crucial for Tottenham, with Dominic Solanke battling injuries over the last 18 months and Richarlison entering the final year of his contract. Marmoush is comfortable dropping deep to link play, interchanging positions, and attacking spaces vacated by defenders.

Spurs have already had a busy window, with spending reportedly in excess of £312 million, including the signing of Savinho from Manchester City. The addition of Marmoush for a proposed £60m permanent fee would be another major statement as they rebuild their attack.

For the Egyptian, it is an opportunity to rediscover his form and become a key figure in North London after an inconsistent spell in Manchester.
