EFL CUP THIRD ROUND: Liverpool to Face Tottenham as Big Guns Enter

The standout fixture of the Carabao Cup third round will see Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur, following the draw conducted on Thursday.

This round marks the entry of Premier League clubs competing in European competitions.

In other big ties, Manchester United were drawn at home against Brighton & Hove Albion, while holders Manchester City will host Championship side Norwich City.

Arsenal will travel away to face Ipswich Town, and Aston Villa face an away trip to Coventry City.

Elsewhere, Bournemouth will host Lincoln City, Sunderland will play Hull City, Newcastle United travel to Millwall, and Everton host Wolves.

Fleetwood Town, the only League Two side left in the competition, were rewarded with a home tie against Sheffield United.

Other fixtures include Crystal Palace vs Middlesbrough, Leyton Orient vs Bradford City, Reading vs Brentford, and Peterborough United vs Barnsley.

Two more ties are yet to be finalised, pending the results of Chelsea vs Luton Town and Fulham vs AFC Wimbledon.

According to the organisers, third-round matches will be played across the weeks commencing September 7 and September 14, to avoid clashing with the opening rounds of European competitions.
