Pete Edochie Says No Nollywood Actor Is On His Level
Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has sparked conversation after declaring that he stands above all his colleagues in the Nigerian film industry.

Edochie made the bold statement while appearing on comedian Isbae U’s online interview show, “Curiosity Made Me Ask”, when he was asked to name his favourite actor.

Instead of picking a colleague, the legendary actor said he couldn’t choose one because none of them is on his level.

The comment comes after fellow actor Yemi Solade had earlier claimed that he started acting before Edochie, even though he is younger.

Reacting to such claims about seniority in Nollywood, Edochie said he has intentionally refused to respond to people who say they are older or on the same level as him.
“People have been writing that they are older than me in the industry, but I don’t respond. Whoever said they are of the same level with me should come out and say it,” he said.
The veteran also spoke on being called a legend in Nollywood, saying he is not sure how people define the word but is grateful to be celebrated.
“I don’t know the definition of people’s legend, but I’m glad to be celebrated,” he added.
Edochie further revealed that he had already built a solid professional career before joining Nollywood, noting that he rose through the ranks and retired as a Director of Programmes before fully going into acting.
