18 Terrorists Neutralized As NAF Destroys Logistics Hubs in Borno
The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has neutralized over 18 terrorists and destroyed their logistics hubs in a precision air strike in Borno State.
The operation was carried out in the early hours of Friday at Tumbunma Baba in the Tumbuns area of the state.
According to a statement signed by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, the mission was based on credible intelligence gathered over weeks about high-profile terrorists converging at meeting and logistics nodes within the islands.
He said the intelligence was validated by the Theatre Command, with confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that commenced on Wednesday, September 9, pinpointing several terrorist structures and logistics hubs being used as a gathering and support base.
Following positive identification, air platforms engaged the locations with precision munitions, while ground troops of Sector 1, Operation Hadin Kai simultaneously blocked likely escape routes.
The strikes successfully destroyed the targeted structures and neutralized over 18 terrorists, dealing a significant blow to their activities by disrupting logistics and degrading their enclave.
A post-strike assessment showed about 85 percent success in achieving the operational objectives.
The military said the outcome underscores the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations and synergy between air and ground troops, adding that OPHK will continue to deny terrorists freedom to operate across the Theatre.
The public was also urged to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security forces.
