EFCC Arrests Edo-Based Fake Spiritualist for Sextorting Indian Client of $1,100
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a self-acclaimed spiritualist, Odigie Moses, for alleged sextortion.
The suspect was arrested in Ekpoma, Edo State, the anti-graft agency disclosed in a post on X on Friday, August 7, 2026.
According to the EFCC, Moses posed as a spiritual healer on Zelle, a social media platform. He was contacted by an Indian woman who sought spiritual intervention over life-threatening challenges.
The agency said the suspect deceived the victim into taking a naked spiritual bath, which he secretly recorded live. He then blackmailed her, threatening to make the explicit video public if she failed to pay him.
Investigation revealed that the victim paid $1,100 to stop him from releasing her nude video.
The EFCC stated that the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
