2027: Kebbi APC Fires Back at ADC, Says Party Has No Moral Ground to Accuse Gov Idris
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has hit back at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over allegations of financial mismanagement against the administration of Governor Nasir Idris.

Reacting to a press conference addressed by the ADC Campaign Council Director-General, Hon. Sani Tadurga, who accused the APC-led government of mismanaging public funds, the Acting Chairman of the APC in the state, Alhaji Adamu Mudi, said the ADC lacks the moral standing to point fingers.

Mudi, who spoke at a press conference in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, said it was ironic that the ADC would accuse the Idris administration of corruption while its governorship candidate for 2027, Abubakar Chika Malami, is facing corruption-related charges in court.

He said the people of Kebbi State and the visible projects executed by the government are enough to defend Governor Idris, whom he described as Kauran Gwandu.

“The people of Kebbi are not blind. They can see where public money has gone,” Mudi said.

He listed some achievements of the Idris administration to include the dualization of the Birnin Kebbi-Ambursa Road, expansion and beautification of major roads, installation of solar-powered streetlights in Birnin Kebbi, Yauri and other towns, employment of more teachers, rehabilitation of schools, procurement of over one million textbooks, renovation of 30 general hospitals and primary healthcare centres, and construction of new general hospitals.

“These are the facts on the ground. When Governor Idris sought the mandate of the people, he promised to be fair, accountable, development-driven and responsible with the trust placed in him. Three years on, the record is there for any honest observer to inspect,” he added.

The APC acting chairman further questioned the wealth of the former Minister of Justice after leaving office, noting that Nigerians are still awaiting answers as the courts have already taken action on some assets.

“As we speak, he remains in court. Nigerians have been waiting for answers. The courts have already acted on assets,” he said.
