Access Bank Refunds N3m to Customer After Public Outcry, VDM Reacts
Popular social activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has confirmed that Access Bank has refunded the sum of N3 million to a female customer following his public intervention over an alleged unauthorised debit from her account.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, VDM disclosed that the money had been returned after the issue gained attention online.
He wrote: “ACCESS BANK HAVE REFUNDED THE 3 million naira to the customer’s account, this country, so if the woman no cry out her money don go Abi.”
The activist questioned what would have become of the funds if the customer had not raised an alarm publicly.
VDM further alleged that some corrupt staff across several Nigerian banks take advantage of dormant accounts with large balances, assuming the account owner may have passed away. He mentioned Access Bank, GTBank, Zenith Bank and First Bank while making the claim.
He also noted that such alleged practices could be one of the reasons families of deceased persons often struggle to access their relatives’ funds.
The development has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians commending VDM for intervening.
