Atlético Madrid Rules Out Álvarez Move to Barcelona
Atlético Madrid have confirmed that Julián Álvarez will not be joining Barcelona, stating the club will not negotiate his transfer to the Catalan side.

The club said the decision has the unanimous backing of its Board of Directors. In an official statement on Thursday, Atlético stressed that while they remain open to transfer talks in general, such negotiations must be done ethically and professionally with mutual respect between clubs.

According to the Madrid club, Barcelona failed to meet those standards.

“FC Barcelona have not met these requirements and, as a result, there have been no negotiations, nor will there be any negotiations with them regarding the transfer of Julián Álvarez,” the club said.

Atlético added that they are confident Álvarez, who joined from Manchester City and has become a key player in his two seasons at the club, will understand the decision and stay focused on the team’s objectives.

The statement effectively ends speculation linking the Argentine forward with a move to Barcelona.
