Bella’s Lawyers Hit Sheggz With Pre-Action Notice Over Alleged Breach of Promise To Marry, Demand £10k and N19m Refund
The breakup drama between former Big Brother Naija Season 7 couple, Bella Okagbue and Segun “Sheggz” Olusemo, has escalated into a legal battle.
According to reports, Bella’s legal team has served Sheggz a pre-action notice alleging breach of promise to marry and domestic abuse.
The lawyers are also demanding repayment of funds allegedly borrowed by Sheggz during the course of their 4-year relationship, with the sum reportedly exceeding £10,000 and ₦19 million.
In a response letter dated August 24, 2026, Bella’s lawyers, The Royal Partners, described Sheggz’s earlier cease-and-desist notice for defamation as “spurious and baseless,” maintaining that Bella’s social media comments were expressions of her genuine feelings and personal experiences.
The legal team further alleged that the relationship involved a “breach of promise to marry and misrepresentation of intentions that amounts to deceit” and that Sheggz obtained several loans from Bella under false pretence, which they claim to have evidence for and are ready to pursue in court.
The development has sparked mixed reactions online. While some users questioned if there is documented proof of the marriage promise, others pointed to Sheggz’s multiple public interviews and moments in the BBNaija house where he said his wedding to Bella would be in Italy.
The former couple, who met during BBNaija Level Up, are yet to publicly comment directly on the latest legal notices.
