Billionaire Rasaq Okoya’s Son, SirRaheem, Announces Exit From Music
Afrobeats singer Raheem Okoya, popularly known as SirRaheem and son of billionaire industrialist Chief Rasaq Okoya, has announced his exit from the music industry.
The singer announced his decision in an open letter shared on his official X account on Tuesday, titled “Professional Exit From The Music Industry”.
In the letter, SirRaheem described his music journey as “magical”, recalling sold-out live shows, viral moments and recognition from artists he grew up admiring.
He explained that music started as a hobby he did with friends for bonding before it became a career, but balancing music with his other responsibilities has become increasingly difficult.
According to him, he no longer feels he can give the craft the effort, patience and dedication it deserves, hence the need to make a professional exit and stop releasing new music.
SirRaheem, who also serves as an Executive Director at his family’s Eleganza Group, noted that his exit from music does not mark the end of his creative journey. He said he plans to explore other creative fields and diversify his ventures.
He however left the door open for a return, stating that music remains therapeutic to him and that his unreleased album – which he described as the best material of his career – may still be released in the future.
“Who knows what the future still holds. Never say never,” he wrote, while appreciating his fans, colleagues, and supporters for believing in him.
SirRaheem came into the Afrobeats scene with several releases and energetic live performances. In January 2026, he made headlines after unveiling an exclusive members-only bowling club with a $5,000 annual membership fee.
His latest announcement marks a major shift in his career, though fans remain hopeful for a comeback.
