CAF Confederation Cup: Shooting Stars Jet Out for Decisive Sfaxien Return Leg

Shooting Stars SC have left Nigeria for Tunisia ahead of the crucial second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round clash against CS Sfaxien.

The Oluyole Warriors departed via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday, routing through Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of Sunday’s decisive encounter.

The trip is a historic one for the Ibadan club, marking their first away match in continental competition in 27 years.

Salisu Yusuf’s side will go into the game with a slim advantage after securing a 1-0 win in the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta, courtesy of Emmanuel Lucky’s solitary strike.

The return leg will hold at the Stade Taieb Mhiri in Sfax on Sunday by 6:00 PM Nigerian time.

In the same competition, Nigeria’s other representative, El-Kanemi Warriors, also put themselves in a strong position after thrashing UDIB of Guinea-Bissau 3-0 in their first-leg tie.
