Carter Efe Slams VDM Over Plan To Import iPhone 18 From China, Says Move Will Affect Igbo Traders
Nigerian content creator and streamer, Carter Efe, has called out social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) over his plan to travel to China to source the newly launched iPhone 18 for Nigerians.
Carter Efe made the remarks during a livestream on Friday, where he was reacting to VDM’s announcement.
VeryDarkMan had earlier posted a video from an Apple Store in China after the launch of the iPhone 18, stating that he plans to buy the devices directly from China and sell to Nigerians at a cheaper rate, instead of them buying at inflated prices from local vendors.
Reacting to the plan, Carter Efe claimed the move could ruin the business of phone dealers in Nigeria, particularly Igbo traders who dominate the phone market.
In his words:
“First of all VDM go do wetin them go take gather am. VDM go do wetin go take make Igbo people gather am kill am for China.”
He further questioned why VDM, who is not known for selling phones, suddenly decided to venture into the business.
“VDM no dey sell phone o but enter China, he wan go buy phone dey sell. He wan spoil people business,” he said.
Carter Efe went on to express shock at VDM’s decision, asking rhetorically:
“VDM, I never see that kind person before, you be witch?”
The clip from the livestream has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many debating whether VDM’s plan will help Nigerians or hurt local businesses.
