Cesc Fabregas Wins Serie A Coach of the Year, Makes History with Como
Former Arsenal and Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has been named Serie A Coach of the Year after leading Como to a historic 2025/26 season.

Fabregas received the award at the Gran Galà del Calcio AIC ceremony held at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan on Wednesday. The award is organized by the Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC).

According to Lega Serie A, the ceremony honoured the top performers of the 2025/26 campaign, with Fabregas winning the “premio di Allenatore dell’Anno” and Inter Milan named Club of the Year.

The honour crowns an incredible season for Como, who finished fourth in Serie A with 71 points, behind champions Inter, Napoli and Roma, to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

With the win, Fabregas, 39, has become only the third non-Italian manager to win the award. He now joins Sweden’s Sven-Göran Eriksson, who won it after leading Lazio to the 1999/2000 title, and Portugal’s José Mourinho, who won it in consecutive seasons with Inter Milan.

The 2026 edition of the awards also saw Como midfielder Nico Paz named Young Player of the Year, while Inter’s Federico Dimarco was voted the overall best player of the season. Lega Serie A said the awards were decided by direct votes from the players themselves.
