Man City Make History With Record €526m Transfer Window Spending
Manchester City have set a new all-time record for spending in a single transfer window after splashing €526.2 million in the 2026/27 summer window.

According to data from Transfermarkt released on Thursday, City became the first club in football history to cross the €500m mark in one window, overtaking Liverpool’s previous record of €483m set in the 2025/26 summer window.

The historic figure was reached on deadline day following the arrivals of Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for €70m and Enzo Fernández from Chelsea for €145m — a fee that equals the British transfer record.

City’s other major signings in the window included Elliot Anderson for €135m and Ayyoub Bouaddi for €95m, among others.

Despite the huge outlay, the club recouped €337m from player sales, leaving a net spend of €189m for the window.

The summer was marked by heavy spending across Europe. Chelsea’s €407m spend in this same 2026/27 window now ranks 4th all-time, while Tottenham (€366m) and Newcastle United (€301m) also broke into the top 10 after crossing the €300m threshold.

Liverpool had held the previous record after their 2025/26 spree which included Florian Wirtz (€125m) and Alexander Isak (€145m).
