MFM Eyes Perfect Season After Thrashing Bayelsa Blue Whales 77-21
MFM Basketball Club has set its sights on an unbeaten season in the Zenith Bank Women’s Premier League after continuing their dominant run with a crushing 77-21 win over Bayelsa Blue Whales in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

The Lagos-based side delivered a 56-point demolition of the Blue Whales, further underlining their title credentials as they chase every major trophy this season.

Speaking after the game, MFM head coach Akinwonjowo Oladele said the team’s consistency is built on discipline and hard work.
“The secret to our outstanding performances, day in, day out, is putting in hard work and remaining consistent,” Oladele said via First Zeal Media Port Harcourt.

“Our mission is to go unbeaten and win all the trophies this season. We are on course for the Louis Edem Trophy, MFM Championship and the Zenith League, where we are about 70 per cent through. We are sure of going unbeaten this season.”
While pleased with his team’s form heading into the decisive phase of the season, Oladele voiced concerns over the organization of the domestic league, which he says has seen little change in three years.

“This is how we have been going for the past three seasons. I am hoping that when the election is done, and we have a new president, he can initiate new ideas for the local league,” he added.

MFM, who were dethroned by Dolphins last season, will be aiming to reclaim the women’s national title this year.
