Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has been named Top Model Africa at the ongoing 73rd Miss World Festival in Vietnam.

The win automatically secures her a place in the Top 40 quarterfinals of the competition.

Karibi-George beat other African finalists from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa to clinch the continental title at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed “Soul of Heritage”.

She joins other continental Top Model winners, including representatives of the Dominican Republic for the Americas and Caribbean, France for Europe, and Vietnam for Asia and Oceania, who have all earned automatic Top 40 spots.

The 26-year-old communications professional from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been enjoying a strong run at the 75th Anniversary Miss World Festival, which began on August 9 and will climax with the grand finale on September 5 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Earlier in the competition, she featured among Africa’s finalists in the Head to Head Challenge. She has also gone viral for her talent performance, where her sonorous singing voice earned praise from Nigerians online.

Karibi-George was crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6 at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, emerging winner from 20 contestants. She is also the founder of the Beyond Labels initiative, which advocates for inclusion and opportunities for children with disabilities and special needs.
