Portable Doubles Signee’s School Fees Request, Vows to Play Father Figure Role
Controversial Nigerian street-hop star, Portable, has earned praise after extending financial support to one of his signees, Starlight.

In a video shared online, the singer was seen having a conversation with the rising artiste who disclosed that he needed financial assistance to pay his school fees at Ilaro Polytechnic.

Starlight had initially asked for N250,000 to cover his tuition, but Portable surprised him by promising to double the amount.

The Zeh Nation boss told his signee to stop bothering his mother for fees and to come to him instead, stressing that he has taken on a fatherly responsibility over him since his return from the UK.

In his words: “I will give you N500,000. Don’t ask your mum for school fees; come and ask me. I am your father. You know I am just coming back from the UK. You’re my artist.”

The gesture comes despite the controversies that have often surrounded the singer, showing his commitment to supporting members of his label as they balance education and music.

Starlight, who is currently a student at Ilaro Polytechnic, had reached out to Portable privately to request N250,000 for his school fees.

The video has since sparked reactions online, with many commending Portable for stepping in for his artiste.
