Soludo Defends Tinubu’s Reforms, Likens Inherited Economy to Stage Four Cancer
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, stating that he sees hope in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking on Thursday during the visit of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Anambra State, Soludo said the severity of the economy inherited by President Tinubu was not fully understood by most Nigerians, hence the need for tough reforms.
According to him, the current administration had to perform an “emergency surgical operation” on the economy, which naturally comes with pains.
“I see hope with the Renewed Hope Agenda. Most people did not know the state of the economy inherited by President Tinubu and the absolute necessity of the emergency surgical operation required. A stage four cancer patient will obviously feel the pains of surgery,” Soludo said.
He expressed optimism that despite the current hardship, the next four years of the Tinubu administration will usher in a stronger and fairer Nigeria.
His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians backing his assessment, while others questioned his past role in previous economic teams.
