I’m Your Warrior” – Bruno Guimaraes Sends Passionate Message To Arsenal Fans After £75m Move, Targets Trophies
Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes has promised Arsenal fans he will be their warrior as he completed his £75million move to the Emirates.
The Brazilian midfielder, 28, has joined the Premier League champions from Newcastle on a four-year deal with an option for a further year, with the fee paid in full over 24 months.
Speaking after his unveiling, Guimaraes said he is hungry for a new challenge and to make history in North London.
“I think after playing two World Cups, I think I’m at the point of my life, I think I need a challenge like this. I want to win trophies, I want to make history and I think I’m in the right place to do it,” he said.
The Brazil international also revealed a warm welcome from his new teammates, including a funny message from Declan Rice.
“Rice sent me a message: ‘Come here and please no more fights, now we’re friends.’ I was happy he messaged me,” Guimaraes disclosed.
He added that Gabriel Magalhaes had been pushing for the move for weeks, constantly messaging him “we’ll wait for you, when will you come?”
Guimaraes promised to bring the same fighting spirit that made him a fan favourite on Tyneside, where he captained Newcastle to their EFL Cup triumph over Liverpool in 2025 – their first major trophy since 1955.
“I would say I can pass the ball, run a lot and play like a warrior, I’ll never give up. I will try to help the team, good with the ball, composed, very calm, and sometimes I can score some goals,” he said.
He had a final message for the Arsenal faithful:
“The message for me is thank you for everything you have done. All the messages you gave me, I’m so excited to join you. I will give you my best, I promise. Like I said, I’m your warrior, I’ll never give up. Hopefully we can create many, many good memories together.”
Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta described Guimaraes as a player with “great mentality and great quality” who will bring strong leadership to the squad, noting his ability to play as both a defensive midfielder and a box-to-box midfielder.
Guimaraes’ arrival is seen as a major statement of intent from Arsenal as they look to defend their Premier League title.
