Akor Adams Opens Serie A Account For Venezia In Defeat To Fiorentina
Nigerian striker Akor Adams has opened his Serie A goal account for newly-promoted Venezia.

Adams scored his first league goal for the Lagunari on Friday, September 11, in his fourth Serie A appearance against Fiorentina at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.

The 26-year-old put Venezia ahead in the 22nd minute, collecting a pass from Gianluca Busio on the right side of the area and firing a first-time finish into the far corner for 1-0.

Fiorentina responded quickly, with Franco Mastantuono scoring twice in the 29th and 30th minute to make it 2-1 at half-time, before Mateo Pellegrino and Mastantuono again completed a 4-2 win for the visitors.

The goal continues an impressive start to life in Italy for the club-record signing. Adams had earlier scored twice and provided an assist in Venezia’s 3-2 Coppa Italia win over Modena.

Adams joined Venezia this summer from Sevilla in July 2026 in a deal worth a club-record €17m plus bonuses, signing a four-year contract worth €1.5m per season.
